Paxil & paxil side effects

Paxil withdrawl. On the street) but it, along with many other drugs, can cause side effects if withdrawn too quickly. Unfortunately, Paxil seems to be hard to withdraw, even with a slow taper. For this reason Paxil should not, IMHO, be a "front-line" antidepressant. Good luck. BrianKath06 01 2000C15 .I am on day 4 of Paxil withdrawl. I have been taking 20 mg for a little over a year for depression which was related to extreme turmoil in my work environment. This has now cleared up and I don't like the idea of taking drugs I don't need, so I went back to my doctor, who said I could quit. But she didn't say anything about weaning myself off. Since Day 2, I get these little twinges all the time, kind of like a mild electrical shock, though less intense. I thought I was going nuts (or had a serious neurological disorder of some kind) until I discovered via the web others seem to be having similar problems when they stop taking Paxil. I went back to the doctor and she suggested I go back on to 10 mg for a f paxil withdrawl

Experiences with paxil: re: any help for paxil withdrawl?

Ew days, then cut back. But I'm torn. Am I just postponing the inevitable? Like am I going to have to go through this eventually anyway? Am I through the worst, and would I be stupid to go back on now? Do I look as crazy as I sometimes feel? Like, I have to teach a class for 4 days next week -- am I going to look like a bozo??? Has anyone else had these electrical twinges? How long did they last? Were you able to keep working and retain your credibility?Kath06 01 2000C16 .I am on day 4 of Paxil withdrawl. Now if Paxil contributed any. I do know that within 2 weeks I was able to continue working and the Paxil no doubt helped me to get through this horrible 6 months. After finishing the 6 month treatment my doctor told me to take a half dose of the Paxil (10 mg) for 1 or 2 weeks and then stop (he didn't mention any side effects I might experience). I did this and 3 days after stopping Paxil I began to feel strange, kind of dizzy, and tired. That night I didn't sleep well, with all kinds of crazy dreams and about 5am I was lying in bed and was hearing a whoosh, whoosh, whoosh noise like in my brain and with every whose came a jolt through my body and I felt like I was falling and dizzy. I thought I was having an effing stroke. I suspected it was something to do with the drugs so I went online and found this message board in a search and discovered what was happening. Today the whooshes and jolts are not as strong, although still there and I am tired. I did 20 mg of Paxil for 5 months and 10 mg for 10 days. I stopped 6 days ago. How long should these effects last? I wish I had paid the extra for the Lexapro. I have been through hell the last 6 months and I finally thought it was over (by the way, the combination therapy has worked so far, my viral load count of Hep C is undetectable, thank God) Will I ever get back to normal? I appreciate any input and experience. thank You, Michael Password: Responses To This Message Re: paxil withdrawl (views: 843)Barry -- Monday, 15 November 2004, at 3:58 p.m. Post Response Username: Your E-Mail Address: Subject: Message: > Hi, > I was
